INTERMEDIATE CERTIFICATE

General description
It tests the four skills of the language: reading, writing, listening and speaking.

Part 1. Reading comprehension (50 minutes): comprehension questions and multiple choice exercises on
narrative, descriptive and argumentative texts.

Part 2. Writing (60 minutes)
Candidates are expected to write letters and a composition ( 150-200 words).

Part 3. Listening comprehension (30 minutes)
Candidates are provided with some recorded material. They are expected to show understanding of
recorded material or of a talk given by the teacher and to infer meaning.

Part 4. Use of Spanish (60 minutes)
Matching the phrase with a situation.
Error correction.
Finding the correct word to complete a text.

Part 5. Speaking (10/15 minutes)
Interaction with the examiner. Role playing.
